This year the TEDx folks asked for my cooperation and I ended up being one of the official photographers. These are some of the highlights:
Remaining shots @ flickr.
For these shots I used my 5D mk2 with either a 70-200mm f2.8 a 16-35mm f2.8 or 50mm f1.4. Of the complete set only 6 frames were made with the 40D.
What I learned this time: I need a twin 5D mk2 (or a better full frame camera) to keep from switching lenses constantly. I did have my 40D but it’s not very well suited for this particular kind of photography. And I need a fast prime, with a medium range focal length… something like an 85mm f1.2 or a 135mm f2.0. I found my 50mm f1.4 great for picking people out of the audience but a longer focal length would be nicer.
