What to do when you have a Canon 40D, a Peleng 8mm fisheye lens and the opportunity to slide down a 1538 meter (0.96 miles) long cable?
You take the camera with you and shoot (almost) all the way down at nearly 5 fps. An then you make a time lapse video out of it.
It is an awesome ride. Available at Pena Aventura Park, Ribeira de Pena, Portugal
Gear used:
- Canon 40D
- Peleng 8mm Fisheye lens
- Sandisk Extreme III 8Gb card – 30Mb/s – needed a fast card to store 5, 10Megapixel, frames per second
- Sturdy Domke camera strap
- My right hand
Of course there’s a lot more fun stuff you can do at the park
For all the geeks out there:
Asus PW5 DH Deluxe motherboard
If you’ve got a keen eye you’ll notice the missing cooler. Beneath it it’s a Core 2 Duo E6300 1.8Ghz @ 2.6Ghz
The stock cooler wasn’t handling the OC that well and a bigger one was due… ended up installing a Xigmatek HDT-S1283… much better now… doesn’t get past 50Cº
They missed the goal and I missed the shot… but the photo turned out to be one of my favorites of the whole game…
